Holy Expanding Captive Insurance Domiciles Batman
That’s right Robin, it appears domestic captive insurance domiciles grew in 2016.
Batman, did you see that Tennessee added 37 new captives and 67 new cells?
I did, Robin.
And did you see that North Carolina doubled their number of licensed captives from 2015 to 2016, ending the year with 550 pure captives or cell captives?
I saw that too, Robin.
Did you see that Vermont licensed 26 new captives? We’ll have to wait to see what other domestic domiciles report. It will probably be reported in Captive Review in March. Batman, what do you make of this growth despite the Joker’s threats last year?
Well Robin, we know the Joker has tricks up his sleeve, but the Joker appears to be completely out of step with Congress, the U.S. Tax Court and the State Domiciles which license captive insurance companies.
Good point, Batman. And, savvy American business owners show resiliency every year with more and more of them choosing to own their own insurance company and experience all the benefits captives provide.
You’ve got to love that entrepreneurial spirit, Robin!
Tune in next week when Robin says, “Holy unexpected loss Batman…that captive insurance company just saved their bacon!” Same Bat Time. Same Bat Channel.
